The route starts in Beniarda and surrounds the Guadalest reservoir.

The route starts from the village of Beniarda, a picturesque Moorish village near Castell de Guadales. At the entrance of the village, next to the Mosque restaurant, we can leave the car. A little further on there is a public car park.

 Difficulty

Easy. The excursion is by rural road, road and path. It does not involve any difficulty of orientation, it is simply a matter of turning over the reservoir.

Of interest

The views of the surrounding mountains. The small white villages of the valley scattered on the slopes of Aitana. The vegetation: pines, and in the cultivated lands, olive trees, almond trees and carob trees, some of them monumental. The water of the reservoir and its colours, variants according to the season of the year and the time of the day.

Route

  • From the car park we start walking through the village of Beniarda.
  • Continue down the street, passing under a striking arch and continue along the rural road that borders the reservoir until you cross the dam.
  • Turn right onto a path that leads to the solar boat wharf and continues around the reservoir until you reach the rural road where you start the route.
